Brief History about Seikenkai Katate International and Grand Master Sohan Yoshioka Tsuneo:

"Rule is plural but the root is one. Karate is a self- defence, the way of life long training" .... Grand Master Sohan Yoshioka Tsuneo.
Sohan Yoshioka, the founder of Karatedo Seiken-Kai, born in Saitama Prefecture in Tokyo, Japan in the year 1971. He was very much influenced by his grandfather, a martial art expert and a "Swordsman". He began his martial art training since his childhood under the tutelage of his Swordsman grandfather. But due to some severity at the young age, Sohan Yoshioka compelled to abandon his martial art training.
Incidentally, when he was a high School student, a shocking incident was happened in his life and he felt it was necessitated to learn martial art in broder prospect and joined in Karate training class of Soshi Ito Ryuji. Sohan Yoshioka Tsuneo has bagged various awards, won several full contact Karate Championships and credited with Black Belt of different grades by several Karate Associations of Japan which includes Kyokushin Karate, Ashihara Karate, Enshin Karate, Kendo & Shotokan Karate. He was recognized as Grand Master with higher Dan Black Belt by International Karate Association (IKA) & Bushin Karate Do Federation, headed by eminent Karate Grand Masters Masaki Miyachi, Nakayama Yuichi, Nakayama Masaru, Toshikazu Sakai.

Since his student days Sohan Yoshioka has been practicing Swordsmanship, Sabaki Karate, Okinawan Karate till today.
In the year 2001 he established " Seikenkai Katate School" in Japan and in 2006 on the basis of revised curriculum, the committee revised & renamed the Organisation as " Karatedo Seiken-Kai", which is now a popular style and gradually expanding across the globe.
Karatedo Seiken-Kai got official membership & recognition of All Japan Karate Judge Organisation (JKJO), Full Contact Committee on December 01, 2014 and approved by New Japan putting together Karate Federation ~"Bushin".
Seikenkai member practices Okinawa Karate Kata, Kobudo centering on Sabaki technique.
Apart from imparting Seikenkai Katate training at World HQ (Honbu) in Saitama, Japan on regular basis, Sohan Yoshioka visits all the branches of Seikenkai Katate across the globe. Still he participates in various tournaments of his standard including All Japan Senior Masters' Karate Meet.
Grand Master Sohan Yoshioka Tsuneo believes in philosophy like as " as a leader I am working on nurturing the backwards, as a player I am ready to accept the challenge & practice full contact Karate/Sports Karate/ Kendo/Sabaki Karate with my students & followers".

Brief History of GMA Karate-Do Academy, India

"GMA Karate-Do Academy, India" is a short form of "Pratappur Goldenman's Martial Art Academy" (due to some technical and/or legal reasons the earlier name of the Academy 'Goldenman's Martial Art Academy' have slightly been revised into "Pratappur Goldenman's Martial Art Academy" w.e.f. year 2012), established in Calcutta, West Bengal by Sensei Sumit Banerjee in 1986. The Academy was inaugurated by Late Ruby Banerjee, the Mother of Sensei Sumit Banerjee, in Calcutta on 14th December, 1986.
Late Dr. (Prof.) K.P. Basu was the first President of the Academy and Mr. S.K. Basu, an Advocate of High Court, Calcutta, is the General Secretary of the Academy since its establishment. The Academy is Registered by Govt. of West Bengal under Societies Act XXVI of 1961, Deptt. of Youth Affairs & Sports, NYK-Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports & MSME, Government of India & The Society of Creative Performance (TSCP).
The Academy follows the style of Seiken-Kai Japan (Sabaki Full Contact Karate), The League of International Karate Seikenkai, as a direct Branch of Japan World HQ, and having its India HQ at Chinsurah in Calcutta, the birth place of Shihandai Sumit Banerjee. The Academy is controlled by an approved & unanimously selected Governing Body and a group of active disciplined members of Steering Committee have facilitated to run the organization smoothly. The accounts are audited in regular basis in every fiscal by the registered Chartered Accountants Audit Firm.
In addition to impart regular Full Contact Karate training, GMA Karate Do Academy & Seiken-Kai India arrange/organize Outdoor Summer Camps, Championships, Grading Examinations, Inter-Dojo Tournament, Skill Development Programme for youths, Mental power and Human Relationship development Programmes from time to time.
The main objective of the Academy is to strengthen the Japan-India friendship bond and to encourage the members to learn and grow with the authentic Seiken-Kai Karate of Japan. The Japan Seiken-Kai management board unanimously selects and issues Black Belts and Certificates directly from Japan for the successful candidates. Please note, we do not manufacture and provide any Black Belt, Certificates in India for our members. We provide the opportunity to the selected performers/members to join/participate at different events /activities & advance training programmes at the International HQ Dojo at Saitama in Japan, under the tutelage of Sohan Yoshioka Tsuneo, the World Supreme Grand Master, and Grand Master Soshi Ryuji Ito, the President of the World Seiken-Kai Karate as and when it is organized by World Body. Our main focus is to develop a group of disciplined, non-addicted, dynamic young people for their brighter future and better living and to spread the Seiken-Kai Karate across the India as an Independent National Organization.
